Delaware & Chesapeake
Garden Railroad – New Features
The Delaware & Chesapeake Railroad was constructed on the raised bed principle using topsoil acquired from a construction firm that was working construction associated with the WalMart Distribution Center in Smyrna, Delaware. The raised bed is surrounded by field rocks and stone collected from the nearby Meadow Lawn Farm and the Virdin Farms. Construction on the new extension began in March 2007 with field rocks, topsoil and organic matter being acquired from Meadow Lawn Farm.
